Metallic aluminum is used to directly roll aluminum foil into thin sheets for hot stamping. It is also known as "false silver foil" since the hot stamping effect is comparable to that of pure silver foil. When the calendered sheet is placed on offset paper with sodium silicate and other ingredients to form aluminum foil, it can also be printed due to the soft texture, high ductility, and silvery white shine of aluminum. It is not recommended to use aluminum foil for hot stamping on the covers of books and magazines since it is easy to corrode, darken in color, and fade when rubbed or touched.

Typically, an aluminum plate with a 99.5% aluminum content is referred to as "1050 aluminum foil." The manufacturing of 1050 aluminum foil is straightforward and inexpensive because no additional chemical components are used. A lot of people use aluminum foil.
